The BMW ConnectedRide Cradle smartphone holder is a holder that allows you to use your smartphone on your BMW motorcycle, in particular as a GPS.
A connected BMW Connected Ride Cradle smartphone holder:
Using the BMW Motorrad Connected app (version 4.0 minimum), you can view vehicle data while driving, such as: lean angle, acceleration and deceleration. Connection and pairing are done only once, during the first start-up.
If your motorcycle is equipped with a multi-controller and the special "On-board computer Pro" equipment, other functions can be used.
Connecting your phone via Bluetooth (Bluetooth Low Energy version 4.2 minimum) allows you to use the application with the same controls as for the GPS Navigator VI.
Once installed on the holder, your phone is charged, either by induction (according to the Qi standard, 7.5W max.), Or by USB-C socket (7.5W, 1.5A for 5V). An LED indicator shows you the charging status, this indicator can be turned off.
BMW Cradle ConnectedRide Smartphone Compatibilities:
The mount can, for compatible motorcycles, be locked for added security.
The Connected Ride Cradle BMW holder is compatible with older motorcycle models. It adapts to all models that have the preparation for GPS installed. Models equipped with multi-controller have the possibility of retrofitting for GPS preparation via the BMW Motorrad workshop system (except for the BMW R1200RT, R1250RT and K1600 models).
The Cradle cannot be mounted on the 4-button GPS mount.
It is compatible with smartphones in the dimensions: minimum 130.1 x 65, 5 x 6.9 mm; maximum 162.5 x 78.1 x 8.8 mm. The support sides are individually adjustable to best suit your smartphone. It may be necessary to remove your protective smartphone case if it gets in the way, especially for induction charging or to have an optimal and secure position.
For example, the holder is compatible with the following smartphones: - iPhone: iPhone 7, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone SE 2, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max - Samsung: Galaxy A3, Galaxy A8, Galaxy A8 Plus, Galaxy A9, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus, Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9 Plus, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G, Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Note 10 Plus, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra - Huawei: P20, P30 - Google: Pixel 2 XL - HTC: Le
Attention, iPhone: Pro Max models may not charge by induction with this support, following Apple updates. The ConnectedRide Cradle remains usable, but will not be able to charge your phone. The problem was particularly encountered with the iPhones 12 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max.

Great build and materials as expected from BMW...
Have the option to control ur phone via handlebar if you using the BMW app... who does.. (Google maps.. Waza... ect..)?
Wireless charging is a nice to have but considering it will take longer than a good cable charger..
If you willing to pay for it go for it.. but if you willing to compromise for the build quality you can find brackets that connect to the Nav bracket will hold your phone just as the BMW one and you can charge with a cable faster for 15% of the price...
I like my bike clean and coherent.. so for me the BMW one .. I wish it was a little bit cheaper or for that price include more control on the phone outside the BMW app...

So far it works great, but I see a lot of people having problems with it breaking and concerned it will happen to me. I believe BMW has upgraded the fault parts and if so will you be supplying them on request or just sending them out.

Great product as it opens up the better and vast navigation applications available on your smartphone plus it uses the handy access available on your bike that allow you to use whilst driving. Also with the applicable BMW Motorrad App you still have a view of the motorbike information.
