The New BMW R12: A Monster of Power and Elegance

The BMW R12 is a bold statement of German engineering combined with refined design. Sporting a powerful 1170cc engine with cardan drive and an aerodynamic silhouette, it's ready to tame every turn on the road. With its twin-cylinder boxer engine, the R12 offers an unrivaled power of 70 kW (95 horsepower), which allows it to reach a maximum speed of more than 203 km/h, propelling the driver towards strong sensations with each acceleration thanks to its torque of 110 Nm.

BMW's cutting-edge technologies, such as dynamic traction control and the ABS braking system, are seamlessly integrated to provide a safe and thrilling driving experience. To ensure maximum safety, BMW has equipped this motorcycle with quality brakes: a 310 mm diameter double floating brake disc with a 4-piston monobloc radial brake caliper. For rear braking, this machine is equipped with a 265 mm diameter single disc with a 2-piston floating caliper. For this motorcycle, BMW Motorrad did everything possible to try to achieve a reasonable weight, they succeeded, the BMW R12 is announced for 227 kg fully loaded with a tank capacity of 14L, this machine is therefore easy to handle and very reassuring thanks to its weight but also to its equipment.

The new R12 now has a new air intake system. In addition, it also has a new "Twin Pipe" exhaust system mounted on the left with double silencers with conical tips which integrates both with the look of a sports roadster and that of a cruiser with classics.

The centerpiece of this new R12 is the new tubular steel trellis frame. This frame differs from that of older generations of BMW R nineT, which featured a main frame in two separate parts (front and rear). The new main one-piece frame offers reduced weight and gives the new models a cleaner appearance and reinforces its classic-inspired look. The rear loop, also made of tubular steel, is bolted to the main frame.

Coming to the stock instrumentation of this motorcycle, the R1200 consists of a simple analog speedometer. However, it can be equipped with a second optional counter to display the engine speed. To finish on the instrumentation part, this motorcycle can be equipped with a more modern rectangular digital meter.
