Dominate the track in style: BMW Motorrad motorcycles on the track!

BMW Motorrad is committed to developing motorcycles in all categories, providing riders with a diverse range to meet their wants and needs. Beyond simple mechanics, each model embodies cutting-edge engineering and indomitable passion for the road.

BMW Motorrad sports motorcycles: The premier category

Following the successful launch of the M1000RR and its counterpart the M1000R, BMW Motorrad continues to innovate with the announcement of the M1000XR. Beyond the M (Motorsport) range, BMW also offers more classic but equally sporty and aggressive motorcycles, such as the BMW S1000RRS1000R and S1000XR, with less powerful versions to suit different experience levels.

M1000RR and S1000RR: The champions of BMW Motorrad production

These two models, the M1000RR and the S1000RR, are considered the most radical in BMW Motorrad's production. Since the S1000RR arrived in 2009, it has scared off the competition at every level. The M1000RR, arriving in 2021, pushes the limits of radicality even further with elements such as carbon rimsmass-cut and carbon foot controls, and an Akrapovic exhaust.

The 2023 BMW M1000RR: Excellence redefined

The 2023 BMW M1000RR stands out as an exceptional motorcycle, combining cutting-edge performance, innovative technologies and prestigious heritage. With advanced features such as engine power, precise chassis and aggressive aesthetics, it embodies BMW's continued commitment to innovation.
Here are a few reasons that make the 2023 BMW M1000RR an exceptional machine.

  • Technology and Innovation: The M1000RR excels thanks to ShiftCam Technology, adjusting distribution for optimal power at all revs. The motorcycle incorporates cutting-edge electronics with customizable riding modes, adaptive traction control, and a brake management system.
  • Pure Performance: The heart of the M1000RR lies in its 156 KW (212 hp) engine, designed for the WSBK championship. Its precise chassis and premium suspension provide exceptional handling. Carbon is everywhere, from the frame to the inverted fork, contributing to high-level performance.
  • Aerodynamic Design: The aggressive aesthetic of the M1000RR is not just visual. Its new carbon fiber fairing and fins maximize aerodynamicsreducing drag. The carbon rims and carbon front fender with air ducts not only emphasize the design, they increase the top speed to 314 km/h.
  • BMW M Heritage: Inspired by BMW's Superbike success, the M1000RR embodies the brand's sporting heritage. It is a perfect fusion of racetrack know-how and a machine ready to dominate the track.

Similarities and differences between the M1000RR and S1000RR

The BMW S1000RR and BMW M1000RR share some basic features as BMW Motorrad's premium sports bikes, but the M1000RR is a more specialized and evolved version of the S1000RR. Here are some main differences and similarities between the two models.

Common points :

Basic Platform: The M1000RR is built on the same basic platform as the S1000RR, giving it a similarextremely radical stance when compared to roadsters such as the M1000R and S1000R.

Base Engine: Although both models share an inline-four engine, the M1000RR benefits from a powertrain optimized for superior performance.

Chassis: The M1000RR's chassis is derived from that of the S1000R, ensuring a solid and responsive foundation for an exceptional riding experience.

Cutting-edge technologies: Both models are equipped with cutting-edge technologies, including traction control systems, driving modes, and other advanced electronic features.

Differences:

Optimized Engine: The M1000RR features an optimized engine aimed at increased performance, including specific features such as ShiftCam technology, providing improved responsiveness at different revs.

Extra Power: The M1000RR offers more power than the S1000RR.

Racing Components: The M1000RR is equipped with competition-inspired components, such as M brakes, special suspension, and other high-performance elements designed for use on the track.

Aerodynamic Design: The M1000RR may sport specific aerodynamic design elements aimed at improving high-speed stability on the track.

Weight: Due to performance upgrades and racing components, the M1000RR may have a different weight compared to the S1000RR.

Price: In general, due to its high-performance features and components, the M1000RR is often more expensive than the S1000RR.

In summary, the M1000RR is positioned as a more advanced and specialized version of the S1000RR, designed for motorcyclists looking for maximum performance on the track. While the S1000RR remains an extremely capable and versatile sportbike, the M1000RR takes that performance to the next level with its race-specific components and tuning. Both remain highly track-tuned motorcycles, with an aerodynamic design and an incisive stance.

BMW M1000R and S1000R: versatility on the track and on the road

BMW M1000R: The M1000R represents a variation of the M1000RR, a high-performance sports motorcycle. While retaining certain sporting characteristics, the M1000R is a "naked" version, lacking the full fairing of the M1000RR. Geared more towards dynamic driving on the road, it nevertheless maintains high power and incorporates performance elements inspired by the track.

BMW S1000R: The S1000R, also derived from the S1000RR, presents itself as a roadster motorcycle with an orientation more focused on daily driving and more comfortable ergonomics. It offers high performance, but adopts a sleeker design and features suitable for road use, including higher handlebars and a more relaxed riding position.

In summary, the M1000R emerges as a "naked" version of the M1000RR sports bike, while the S1000R emerges as a roadster derived from the S1000RR, favoring high performance while emphasizing a road approach. Both models remain ultra-sporty and powerful motorcycles, but the S1000R stands out for its versatility between the road and the circuit, while the M1000R is designed for the circuit, with particular attention paid to technology and performance.

The New Coming: The M1000XR

BMW Motorrad unveils the M1000XR the Perfect balance between Performance and Comfort.
They have lifted the veil on their latest prototype, the M1000XR, promising maximum performance, unrivaled exclusivity, exceptional versatility and remarkable comfort for those who desire it.

This new M1000XR prototype offers the rider the possibility of dominating both road asphalt and tracks, rivaling the sportiest motorcycles on the market. In addition, it maintains a high level of comfort, highlighting the heritage of the S1000XR, a basis shared with the M1000XR, recognized for its ability to swallow kilometers with complete peace of mind.

In autumn 2023, all detailed information on the M1000XR will be available, allowing you to discover the final model, beyond the current prototype.

Known Characteristics

With a power of 200 horsepower (147 kW), the M1000XR is positioned as the most powerful trail motorcycle, by a margin of 30 horsepower. Weighing around 223 kg, its weight can be reduced even further thanks to the M package, which will likely include carbon rims, among other things.

The carbon fairings not only serve to reduce weight, but also to optimize the wind resistance, strength, and competitive aspect of this motorcycle. In addition, it offers the same comfort as its classic version, the S1000XR.

In summary, these motorcycles are designed for track and road use. Two of them, the M1000RR and M1000R, are equipped with high-quality technologies and materials for increased performance. The S1000RR and S1000R, although with similar power levels, use less advanced materials but remain suitable for track use.

If you're intrigued by these new BMW motorcycles, don't hesitate to contact your local dealership as soon as they're released to book a test ride. All accessories will be available on our site as soon as the motorcycles are launched.
